The Federal Polytechnic Offa, Kwara State school portal has been allegedly hacked by some serial hackers, Happenings NG reports.
The hacking which has cost the school great damages including loss of data, unsuccessful payment of school fees, and loss of student’s vital information such as O’level result, and data.
Happenings NG gathered that the malware injected to the school server by the hackers has caused the malfunctions of the portal.
In the latest development, two students complained of having matriculation number, and some lamented unsuccessful login to their student’s portal.
It was also gathered that some student’s data have ripped from the server. These according to students might have to be the cause of cyber attacks by hackers.
Students of Electrical Engineering who pleaded anonymity lamented, “My Matriculation Number match with a friend of mine and I cannot access my portal as a student.”
Does it mean I have lost my studentship? and my school fee is a bygone or what will be the outcome of this.” the student added.
Another student also complained that he could access his student’s portal, but could not find his data has the system asked him to re-upload his details such as his passports photograph and O’level result which he had done earlier in the cause of registration before given admission.
While filling this report, the school has not released any statement on this lasted development.
The students urged the student union government to quickly address the issue.
Speaking to the Student Union President, Adigun Abiola, the student’s leader promised swift action to ease the tension of students in order to concentrate on their studies.
