‘Free, Fair election in REC’s Hand’

The state Chairman of the Providence People’s Congress (PPC), Olukayode Adedeji says the only way the September 22 election would be credible was for the Resident Electoral Commissioner Chairman, Prof Segun Agbaje to act on his word.

He recalled that the Osun REC had in many occasions vowed to curb vote buying in Osun to ensure free and fair election.

Adedeji who spoke while addressing newsmen at the party secretariat at Bolanle area of osogbo yesterday said vote buying could serve as an impediment to having a free, fair and credible election in the state gubernatorial election.

Adedeji alleged the major political parties in the state of being guilty of vote buying during elections, advising the state REC to be dynamic in his approach so as to enable the commission to detect any of their devised Strategy.

He however, expressed his confidence in the state REC , saying he has proven himself to be an incorruptible person at the various states has conducted elections.

The party’s candidate, Prof Ife Adewumi promised to better the lots of the people in the state if elected, adding that he would explore a lot untapped resources to improve the IGR of the state.
