THE National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Wednesday, August 28, announced a review of the outcome of the screening of aspirants ahead of the governorship election in Kogi state.
The leadership of the APC also cleared five of the already disqualified aspirants for the party’s primary election.
“After a comprehensive review of the submissions by the two committees, relying on the party’s guidelines and the provisions of the electoral act, nine aspirants were finally cleared to contest the August 29, 2019, indirect governorship primary,” the party said.
A statement by Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, the party’s national publicity secretary, said seven other aspirants did not meet the requirements for participation in the exercise.
