THE 7th Osun State House of Assembly was on Thursday inaugurated, as the former house leader, Hon. Timothy Owoeye representing Ilesa East state constituency became the 5th Speaker.
Owoeye was nominated by Hon. Babatunde Olatunji representing Ife North state constituency, while Hon Abioye Adenike of Ifedayo state constituency properly second the motion.
Owoeye, who won election to return to the house in the March 9 election for the fourth term.
The Clerk of the House, Mr Samuel Amusan presided over the swearing-in ceremony at the instance of the governor of the state, Gboyega Oyetola.
Hon. Samuel Olufemi Popoola, who represents Boluwaduro/ Boripe state constituency, also emerged as the Deputy Speaker.
Others principal officers of the assembly who also emerged are: Hon. Olanrewaju Moroof from Irewole/Isokan state constituency, as the leader of the house, and Hon. Babatunde Olatunji as the chief whip.
Hon. Kunle Akande from Olorunda state constituency also emerged as the Deputy majority leader as Hon. Gbenga Oguntomi from Ayedire state constituency was nominated as the deputy chief whip.
Hon. Babatunde Olateju emerged as Osun Central senatorial whip, as Hon Babatunde Festus nominated as Osun East senatorial whip, while Hon Babatunde Iburogba emerged as West senatorial whip.
However, Hon Adewumi Kofoworola (PDP) nominated as Minority leader.
