ISHAKU Elisha Cliff Abbo, 41, was born and raised in Gova in Muchalla village, Mubi North L.G.A Adamawa State where he originally hails from.
He has lived in several parts of the world such as Lagos, London, Sydney, Canada, Abuja and so on.
He describes himself as “an incorrigible optimist, fearless visionary, a generational blessing, intelligent and compassionate individual.”
On February 23, 2019, Abbbo was elected as the Senator representing Adamawa North, having polled 79,337 votes as against the incumbent senator who was the only female upper chamber representative from Northern Nigeria, Binta Masi Garba of the APC, who scored the closest votes with 63,219.
Abbo, who supported the APC in 2015, switch sides in 2018 when he visited former President Goodluck Jonathan to apologise for criticising him.
In a post which went viral, he wrote, “Today I visited the former President of Nigeria, the father and Hero of democracy in Africa His Excellency Goodluck Ebele Jonathan the man that believed that his ambition is not worth the life of any Nigerian.
“I seized the chance to apologise to him for disagreeing with him politically in 2015. In his usual characteristic manner, he opened his arms wide, forgave easily and received me with love. This man is the embodiment of humility and gentleness.
“We promise to redeem ourselves from our mistakes of 2015 come 2019. God bless Nigeria.”
Ishaku Elisha Cliff Abbo Sues NNTC for Discriminating his HIV Status
On February 9th 2004, Abbo has taken the authorities of the Nigerian Naval Training College, Onne, Port Harcourt to court for allegedly denying him admission into the college on the grounds of his health status despite passing the recruitment test.
According to the source, Abbo, “An HIV/AIDS carrier, Mr. Cliff Elisha Ishaku sued the authorities of the Nigerian Naval Training College, Onne, Port Harcourt to court for allegedly denying him admission into the college on the grounds of his health status despite passing the recruitment test.
In a legal action instituted on his behalf by the vice chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Abuja Chapter, Barrister Jude Okeke, at the Abuja Federal High Court, Ishaku is seeking among others, a declaration that his withdrawal from the School, by the Naval College and the Ministry of Defence on account of his testing positive to HIV virus is illegal, unlawful and breach of his fundamental right to personal dignity.

Abbo allegedly assaulted a nursing woman at Pleasure Chest Shop FA 45 Located at Bannex Plaze Aminu Kano Crescent Wuse II Abuja, HAPPENINGS gathered.
In his response to the criticism, Abbo claimed the adult store owner called him a drunk. Abbo’s public display of anger attracted country wide criticisms and calls for his arrest and prosecution. Consequently, he called for a press briefing, where he tendered a public apology to the nursing mother and to all Nigerians.
He presented himself to the Police for investigation on July 4, 2019 and was granted bail on Friday following the absence of the victim.
On July 8, 2019, the police arraigned Abbo in a Zuba Chief Magistrates’ Court, Abuja, for allegedly assaulting a nursing mother which he however, pleaded not guilty to a two-count charge of criminal force and assault leveled against him.
